Dr. Watson is a fellowship-trained General Internal Medicine specialist with extensive hospital-based expertise and nearly a decade of combined inpatient and outpatient practice in Calgary. Her approach to patient care reflects the kind of training she came up under — rigorous internal medicine reasoning, an appetite for diagnostic complexity, and the patience to sit with a problem until it makes sense.
She holds a Master’s in Pharmacology and Toxicology and brings advanced expertise in complex medication management, particularly for patients on multiple agents or for whom standard treatment hasn’t worked. Her focused clinical interests in resistant and secondary hypertension led her to a current one-year fellowship in endocrine hypertension — one of a small group of internists in Alberta with that level of subspecialty training.
Dr. Watson is also a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, providing evidence-informed care through perimenopause and beyond. Her menopause practice places particular emphasis on cardiometabolic risk reduction and prevention-oriented hormone optimization, drawing on the same diagnostic and pharmacological rigour she brings to her internal medicine work.
At Integria, she practices across both Internal Medicine consulting — accepting referrals from family physicians for diagnostic uncertainty, hypertension, and multisystem complexity — and as a core member of the Menopause Care team, working directly with members to build individualized plans across hormone balance, cardiovascular risk, and long-term health. She holds a Clinical Lecturer appointment at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine, where she contributes to the teaching of internal medicine residents.
