Bone health bloodwork covers the key laboratory markers that inform fracture-risk stratification and bone-turnover assessment in menopause care. Calcium and phosphorus reflect mineral homeostasis; 25-hydroxyvitamin D assesses vitamin D status, which is directly relevant to bone mineralization and fall risk; and CTX (C-terminal telopeptide of type I collagen) is a marker of bone resorption, useful when active bone loss or osteoporosis treatment response is in question.
This panel is included at every tier of menopause care, with CTX added where clinically indicated (for example, in members with confirmed osteoporosis or those on bone-active medications). Results are reviewed alongside DEXA imaging, nutrition and micronutrient testing, and hormone status to build a complete picture of bone health, with any supplementation, medication, or exercise interventions arising from that picture rather than from isolated lab values.
