Some of the testing relevant to menopause, cardiometabolic risk, and hormone optimization is not available through standard Alberta community labs. Send-out blood work uses specialty reference labs (including Quest Diagnostics) for markers such as advanced lipid subfractions, specialized hormone assays, inflammatory markers, and metabolic testing that requires more sensitive or more specific methodology than community labs can offer.
At Menopause Tier 3, send-out panels are run twice across the membership year to track response to therapy over time. Sample collection is coordinated through the clinic, and results are reviewed with you by your menopause physician in the same way as standard bloodwork, translated into what the numbers mean for your plan and what adjustments (if any) follow.
